"When you see the abomination that causes desolation standing where it does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the roof of his house go down or enter the house to take anything out. "
The man on the rooftop is the man who is spiritually creating thought in his mind. When in procreative thought if he breaks away to reflect on himself, then he should not give his thoughts to the things he sees by taking his findings and expanding/developing them. He should instead acknowledge the mental action, and ignore it, and then re-enter into procreative thought.
Here is a situational example. This morning A girl walks through the courtyard wearing a blue dress, and I say "And why are you dressed so nice?" and she replies, "Oh I'm just going to work, but thank you though!" and that was the end of our brief and casual greeting. Now I was standing on my balcony when then happened, and walked back inside, and I as I assume people naturally do, begin to briefly reflect over the quick interaction...
And in this session i begin to run countless angles of thought and judgment, which potentially lead to pride, vanity, anxiety... satisfactions of all kinds.
Both judgment and pride, though seemingly small and insignificant, disrupt the homeostasis of the soul's life-nature. This could also be renamed as sin, the worker of death.
Here is what the parable above suggests that man does. When you catch your self going into reflection of this nature, resist the momentum of your spirits and take your spiritual eyes, which are the totalness of your conscious awareness, and look on the raw emotion that is created when you begin to break your momentum, and at the same time look on elsewhere in calm expectation for a new wind to come and pick up your spirits, and take you back into procreative thought, which is non-ego-centric, natural musical and mindful movement.
This is an idea, which is a seed, and at the same time that seed develops into practice and ultimately training. If you apply it you will gain strength over your automation, and improve the melody of your soul, thereby purifying your soul's condition. It also will be accounted to you for much more too.
